As mentioned though, big thanks to Steve for doing all the hard work in compiling the impressive list of offers.

 I hardly ever use the Elysia Alpha on the mix buss but use the Sonnox Limiter all the time, lol! I think I have enough compression, API 235L as vocal input, but if I wanted to experience the magic of the SSL G buss compressor, I'd probably just save for the duende version. In the past I have thrown too much money away for emulations and then end up buying the real thing anyway. The review didn't speak very highly of the other emulators.

More great input fellas, but personally I'm intimidated by the vast array of knobs on the Elysia, and although separate m/s compression sounds like it would be very useful I don't think I'm quite ready (in terms of mixing skills) for that yet. As for SSL compressor imitations, The Glue comes out well in this SOS review...

Again, I'm probably not ready for anything any better than that yet, and I'm sure I'd be happy with Wave's version too. :)

Lol..I have had the Sonnox plugins since they were called Sony Oxford and I don't think I've ever kept the Inflator in a mix.

I have various flavours of SSL inc. Waves & the emulation in the LiquidMIx...just don't like the sound of it generally.

Your mixes are sounding great Graham. I think the Glue is working very well for you.

I agree with you on that one. It seems to make a difference, it's just that it doesn't seem to make the difference either better or worse.

Thanks for the compliments Robb, but I know I'm not in your league yet (and I know its not just the gear).
Still, based on your comment I might not bother now!
...and if I did I'm sure I could do a lot worse than buying one or two of these for $19!

Who needs a sale at those prices?

Graham, keep an eye-out for the SSL you can get it cheaper. I would check the Waves site once a week typically at the weekends. ;)
