Do you put your song tracks on Spotify?
From The Peanut Gallery - representing the President of The Procrastinators' Club...
and not savvy about social media platforms beyond Soundcloud & Bandcamp.
I still have login access to tunecore from the 2016 release of my first CD; so:
what's 'the plan' recommended for putting, say, 100 song tracks on Spotify...?
In advance; thanks for any help and advice.

I recently "got with it" and used DittoMusic.com to put about 12 songs on multiple sites like Spotify. One reasonable price covered all. NFI.

Yes. For me, as a non-artist, it probably doesn't accomplish much, but I decided to do it. I use Distrokid to distribute to all the streaming sites-- Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc. All my exclusive libraries except one have no problem with this.

Thanks, Ralph. Hadn't heard of that one.

Thanks, Casey - I think I may have bounced around with Distrokid (and Songtradr) - but sites that require lots of data input (unlike the simplicity of Soundcloud & Bandcamp),
for me, are just too cumbersome.

Distrokid requires very little data if I recall. A lot is optional. Songtradr is pretty intense on the metadata.
Also ask yourself what the reason is for wanting to do it. Unless you have a decent number of songs and are building a fanbase, there isn't really any money it. I admit I did it more for fun & ego and for one of my libraries that likes a Spotify link though it's not essential.

I use Distrokid to publish music to the main services like Spotify, Apple Music, etc. I publish projects, full albums worth of stuff at a time. Some of the libraries I'm with also put their stuff out there as well. But you first need to create a Spotify Artist account. It's little kludgy... I did it so that I could easily access my music and share with others. Soundcloud has limits, Spotify has more playback features.

No but some Libraries put them up on Spotify, maybe all micropennies add up and make it worth their while but I can't see the point personally.

Re: Do you put your song tracks on Spotify?
I've started to put songs on streaming platforms, and one of them got on a couple editorial playlists on Spotify, it got over 50k streams in the first month of release. In just 1 month it payed 3x what a sync got me in the same year. So, it's not either/or - it's both/and. Pursue all avenues, don't kid yourself.

Re: Do you put your song tracks on Spotify?
Vocal songs are much more suited to streaming such as Spotify and if you want an artist presence, a must. Instrumentals may as well, more so than cues-- for example, chill, jazz, etc... Something that people would want to stream as playlists for mood.
If you write instrumental cues for TV background, I probably wouldn't bother. I welcome commentary on this.
