Well....
Since I had the tune open in order to process the files for an un-named source...
I opened up a mic and added the acoustic part again but with a very light pick(not a light hand :P )
Wanted to see what it would give me...
I'm liking how the strums are coming to life!
...thinking it's a step in the right direction...
Gonna go with a slightly heavier pick and replace it...

A Horse Named Thundercloud (with one more acoustic yet again)

They won't do much for acoustical comb filtering, primarily for mixing, however I think you can use them while recording with your two mics, I'd need to research that more.* Your mix isn't bad, I just think the frustrations you were having might have had to do with comb filtering, as the video stated, we are used to hearing it and are used to it to some degree. In fact, the more you get into the song the more it is interpreted as the "ambiance" or reverb.

M/S mixing adds a few cool options, such as the ability to move the lower freqs to the middle or side determined by the threshold, (move the 'mud' to the sides, by lowering the threshold freqs for the mid, in other words, clearing the mud by spreading it out), controlling the stereo width or field by opening the sides up but checking the phase with the correlation meter. And other things such as the panning of the mids and sides separately.

*Here's a video where they take the input of the mics as they are recording and place the bx digital across the stereo buss.

You won't be able to 'fix' the comb filtering if it is there either while recording or later in the recording because the comb filtering has already nulled certain freqs, so obviously they wouldn't be conflicting and not indicated by the phase correlation meter. So if the comb filtering is an acoustical problem, there's no help, only the freqs that are present can be assessed by the phase meter (correlation).

Thanks Len,
I plunged headfirst into the Brainworx pool and already found a couple of nice traits to it.
Experimenting with my song "Stayin' Up"
The learning will just never end! (I believe that's what keeps us alive  )
This song is having similar problems...
I took a 5 guitar stereo track and opened it up with Wavelab and played around with the plug-in.
Was able to get a very pleasant balance to it!
My biggest battle is finishing this album in Cubase LE (dinosaur) and then upgrading
The plugin doesn't work with the 'Ole LE...
Gonna jump out of this mustard yellow Yugo and into a fire red Ferrari

ah, no vst in cubase le. What about Samplitude Pro X Silver? It's free, it says vst supported and exports wav file. Limited to 8 tracks.

Jump down to "How to get license Samplitude Pro X Silver activation code" about halfway down page here:

Thanks again Len, (will be my next lyric..."Thanks Again Len"... 'cause it keeps repeating)
Cube' LE does support VST's but the modern ones it doesn't like.
For example the Voxengo Curve EQ won't work with it.
Not to worry though, I think I have two more weeks of the madness and then I'll graduate!

Hey Len, I was wrong...
Just threw BrX into the plugin folder for LE and it works just fine!
I have been afraid to add anything till I'm finished with the LE program for fear of crashing and losing.
Thank you again,
Cass

To my ears, sound like the acoustic could use a bit more body, like you went just a tiny bit too far with the high pass filter on it? Other the that, have to say I really love the arrangement on this track. Your lead guitar work has a real violin like quality to it, was wondering if that was intentional and if you did anythng in particular to make it sound that way, very cool and unique. I think also, and this is more o reflection of how I look at my own stuff these days, but the track in general seems a little overlong, gets to a point where you say all you need to say and then it is a repeat of motif's, doesn't kill it but my attention wanders after a few minutes. Food for thoguht if you decide to take it and others may disagree anyway. Really hope this one finds a home, GREAT track. If you decide to play with it a bit more, take a listen to some stuff off PAt Metheny/CHarlie HAden's Beyond the Missouri Sky album for inspiration.
