Thanks for the listen Chuck! :D
I'll check out Beyond the Missouri Sky today
This is a song that refuses to sit down at the table and eat it's vegetables...
Every mix so far hurts my ears the following day

The lead is by my friend Luis Nariño of Noble Creatures
http://www.luisnarino.com/
We both wanted a Satriani feel so he got his Telecaster and I got out my Fender-Deluxe
Put a Sure 57 on the speaker cone and an MXL-V69 condenser mic up near the ceiling
The amp sat on the toilet!!! Recorded Clean no effects... (would have to check the file for the truth to that)
Doubled the edited track, EQ'd them differently and separated them with some L/R pan
Then Reverb, Delay... I might have a little chorus on the track used as a tonal pad/fill.

and Chuck, I totally get the overdone length of the piece!
My biggest struggle at this time is getting a mix I can live with...
All learning will be directed forwards!!!

Sincerely,
Cass

Today's Mix sounds really close...
Have to tone down the cymbals and the end cymbal fade
But at the moment I seem to like it...

I like it too. Only thing I would suggest is to dial back the reverb on the acoustic track the first 40sec, till the reverb tail is not audible. You will be much happier with that, when you relisten to the song at a later point in time. Rest is great!

If anyone can stomach another version of this,
I took another stab at it today...
