Does this sound like a library track or an instrumental?

Hello all,

I've never posted in the forum before but wanted to give it a try. I want to see if this Christmas song is headed in the right direction. The pitch says they don't want anything that sounds "library-ish".

So my question is does this sound like an instrumental or does it feel like a library track? If it sounds like a library track, what would you do to fix it?

Hey Braiden,

Well.... I listened to it before I read your description.

I didn't know it was supposed to be a Christmas track at all...
It doesn't sound too much like a library track.... BUT
It does kind of sound like a song with the vocals removed, to me.

I am not sure how to fix it.... BUT....it needs to be more Christmassy ...it is to plain sounding.

I agree with Tim that it sounds like a song with vocals removed, so that puts you into the instrumental category for sure. I'd maybe suggest having another instrument (i.e. violin, flute, etc.) fill in for the vocals on this track. I do get a general Christmas feel from it, but maybe its not completely obvious. That may be fine depending on its purpose. Good luck!

I appreciate both of you giving me some feedback! I can hear that as well after taking a break from this song for a few days. I'll work on making the Christmas element a little more obvious and add in something else to emulate the vocals.
