nope I didn't recognize the horn sound - you wrote it on your Soundcloud page under the song description.

Only two things I picked up here:

1) the flute - its not mixed as a lead instrument. its sort of buried - which considering your recount of how you put this together and the flute was a later bit added...
2) your tune is way more up tempo than the refs. I know they said mid to up-tempo in the listing but....sometimes the refs spell out what they want.

Sorry it got returned. it is still usable someplace (likely without the flute). Just not this listing.

I think it might go back to the type of flute not sounding customary to the style, ultimately, not because it didn't sound great. If they were looking for cliche', conventional stereotypes of the music styles, it probably is less likely to work, much like
steel drums wouldn't be stereotypical of country music, though you might have a few country songs that sound great with them.

I will say that I enjoyed your track and for whatever reason I can completely picture this being used for a breakfast cereal commercial.
