Dramedy FORWARD!

Post by mrdtman » Sat Sep 29, 2018 10:01 am

First time it tried this genre, wanted to submit at least another one but couldn't get it finished, but at least this made it (yea!)

https://soundcloud.com/dtman-2/now-ther ... le/s-ckH4A

DRAMEDY-Style INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed for several (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements in new Romantic Comedy on a Major Broadcast Network. They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues that would fall within the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

Keeping Up With The Kardashians (From 0:15 – 0:25):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0YZxsrwRo8

Real Housewives of Orange County (From 0:00 – 0:25):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjjLRDWQ0LI

Keeping Up With The Kardashians (From 0:30 – 1:12):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpKkUnSwM5k

Please send them well-crafted Instrumental Cues that fall within the range of the Dramedy spectrum. Build your Cue around a central melodic theme while adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation as your Cue progresses to add dynamics, interest, and some forward momentum. In others words, give it a developmental "arc." You’d be smart to avoid submitting anything that’s overly busy for this pitch, as it could distract from a scene’s dialog.

Your submissions should be at least 60 seconds long

Thanks Peter. I had 3 more forwards from a listing wanting some gospel stuff recorded around 2001 I think. I had some tunes laying around. Some of them made the cut too. (WOW).

Good to get some momentum.

Hey you got this one through. Shows you don't always have to use pizz strings. It's a groovy track anyway. You should try some more Dramady.

Nice track! No glockenspiel or pizz strings, and it works great.

Right on, congrats and great track DT!

Was great to meet you at the Rally, even if we didn't get much time to connect. Always so nice to meet forum friends.

Hope you make it again next year, cheers and happy music making!
