Epic Forward!

Post by ThomasB » Wed Oct 16, 2019 2:55 pm

Hi Folks, this was a recent forward for me for an Epic Instrumental listing... hope everyone is having an awesome day/night!

EPIC INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a successful Music Licensing Company for a bunch of placements in Mixed Martial arts programming and on-air Promos.
They’re looking for a Range of Styles/Genres for these Mid-to-Up-Tempo Cues, as you will be able to hear when you check out the references they gave us, below:
“Won't Forget My Name” by Stone
Conor McGregor Vs Khabib Nurmagomedov UFC 229 Promo Song |Start a War|
Murcielago MMA Anthem (Official Promo Music Video)
Ekoh- Moment (UFC 226 Promo Video)

Although the references have vocals, they’re looking for Instrumental Cues only!

Quoting the Company: “We're looking for (not limited to) Stomp & Clap Rock OR Hip-Hop elements - with an epic, post-apocalyptic mood."

You'd be REALLY smart to listen to the refs all the way through and maybe even a couple of times each. Notice that dark, serious edge? If your Cues were in MMA promos, would they make viewers feel the pain and smell the sweat? That's what your music needs to do!!
Are you Cues epic? Are they dark, edgy, and post-apocalyptic? They need to be!

Your Cues should stick to a central motif from beginning to end while adding and subtracting layers of additional instrumentation as they progress. Build, build, build as they progress, and give them a big, exclamatory ending in the form of a stinger – bam!

NOTE: Genres for this request could include Rock, Pop, Pop/Rock, Hard Rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, EDM, and/or hybrids of virtually any of those styles, as long as it feels darkly epic and would work well in these MMA TV promos. Seriously, listen to the references a second time to get a strong idea of what this client needs!
