Exclusive or not?

Post by daveydad » Tue Sep 05, 2017 7:29 pm

I've seen this listing before but it doesn't state whether it's exclusive or not. Anyone know?

QUIRKY DRAMEDY-Style INSTRUMENTAL CUES are U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y needed for several, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements in a popular Reality TV Series. They’re very eager to find some fresh Dramedy Cues that can range from quirky and mischievous, to playful and sneaky. Please listen to the following references to get in the stylistic wheelhouse of what they’re looking for:

Will Dives In | The Little People” (0:27-1:42)

“Our Little Family” (1:00 – 1:42)

“Kendra On Top” (0:05 – 0:16)

Please submit lighthearted, bouncy Instrumental Cues that would help support quirky, silly, or funny scenes in Reality TV shows. This show’s getting tired of the same old stuff, so freshen your Cues up with something new, but not outside of the Dramedy genre! New, but not too new! You could use a variety of instrumentation on this pitch: everything from Pizzicato strings and Marimba to Tympani and Glockenspiel could work, as long as it sounds a little quirky and a bit silly – but don’t get carried away! Build your Cue around a central melodic theme, and layer your Instrumentation as your Cue progresses to create builds, dynamics, and some forward momentum.

All submissions should be about Two Minutes long (give or take), with non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener who was handpicked by the client – Short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, September 7th, 2017. TAXI #D170907DI

Direct to super placements are always non-exclusive. The supervisor get paid by the production, they don't need a cut of your piece placed.

The only exception is if the supervisor is also building a library at the same time - and that will state percentage splits and degree of exclusivity.

This listing looks squarely in the first camp unless I totally misread it.
