John,

It sounds like you nailed the listing to me. Did you get the forward?

The track sounds great. There was one little thing that I found just a touch distracting - the bass and drums didn't always seem to line up. But maybe I've just spent too much time editing tracks recently and can't hear things correctly.

Great job. Good luck.

Don

Hi John, Sounds good to me and I think you got the listing right. The mix did seem a bit muddy but not so much that it wouldn't fly. Did you get the forward? Ken

Thanks for the input, guys. Those kinds of details are important to hear about...mix, bass/drum sync. I'm glad to hear you thought I got it right on the listing. So far, no word.

Sassy bounce; check. Drums/rhythm a tad bit sloppy in the first 15 seconds or so; must be a live rhythm section. I would forward this, were it up to me.

Well gang, as it turns out the reviewer thought it was "stylistically off target." I think that by the time they got around to it, they we're through with the listing...

So, think about this; over four hundred submissions and a deadline...could they really have time to listen to them all and still get all the best ones to the client?

Hi John,

Yes, I was puzzled by this situation too. Soon after the deadline, Michael was telling us how many tracks were forwarded. Yet I only found out that I was "stylistically off target" about 12 hours ago.
admin wrote:450 people submitted. More than 20 people sent SONGS with VOCALS even though the listing asked for INSTRUMENTALS. Approx. 30 people got forwarded for this, and they were the people who sent stuff in that sounded like Fame meets Black Keys and left out the Clapton-esque guitar solos—another tip that they weren't REALLY looking for Blues in the classic sense.

John! That played for me. Yay!

Really nice track. The drums have that big Bonham sound, which is good! I agree with Mojo, though: The drums are kinda sloppy for a funk/rock tune. But that's nit-picking.

Great guitar sound and playing!

Best Regards,

Ern 8-) :)
