Lamar, it sits a lot better in the mix imo! It's softer and blends well. Great job!

Really classic arrangement - did you do it yourself?
Did you actually record this with a live bigband?

Sounds great!

I'd love to hear some more body in your voice...needs more low end, to my ears. Could be the speakers I'm listening to right now, but it kinda sounds like the vocal is just "stuck on top" to me, it's not blending as much as I'd like.

I like the "non-Master" version better.

Best of luck with it!
Nick

P.S. Let me know if you ever need a Brian Setzer style guitar player for any of your tracks...I'd love to give ya some crazy slick guitar to blend in with your big band sounds!

Hi Nick:

Thanks for the comments. I didn't record this track with a big band, though I wish that I could have. The track was produced with PG Music software Real Band. I am able to generate "Real Tracks" based off of typed in chord progression. In "Real Tracks", there is a 9 piece and 11 piece "Crooner" horn sections. I've been using PG Music products for over 20 years. They keep getting better and more musical each year. By the way, PG Music gets great session players to create the "Real Tracks". For instance, their Country "Real Tracks" feature Brent Mason, Paul Franklin, Andy Reiss and Jeff Taylor (from the Time Jumpers) to name a few. Similar level players are used on most "Real Tracks".

Thanks for the kind offer to add some guitar tracks. I will definitely keep you in mind. Thanks again for the kind words! :D

That's so rad!
I had never heard of BIAB.

I wonder about the legalities of creating music/arrangements with it and it's samples? What's the license release like for end users?
Most sample Libraries that I have worked with give a "free pass" once you use the sound in your music, unless it's a midi pre-programmed loop in which case it can only take up to like 15% of the total arrangement (or something like that)...

what's the scoop on BIAB? And does it work within your DAW? How do you export your projects for mixing/etc?

N

Nick:

Anything that you create using PG Music products are yours to do with as you wish. The only thing that you can't do is use their songs that they use for examples. I actually do all of my production work within the BIAB and Real Band. I mix in Real Band as it supports VST plugins, so I have no need to leave the platfform. FWIW, I do own ProTools. However I work faster with PG products because of my familiarity with them.

Check them out at: http://www.pgmusic.com/ :) Let me know if I can help in any way with PG products.

Hey Lamar - I did check them out, although I'm not seeing "realband" on there.
Have they renamed it just Band in a Box? Or maybe the "real band" is only for windows? I"m running a Mac... either way it's an expensive peice of kit to be sure...but sounds like it's worth it!

Best,
Nick
