Feedback please, on MINIMALISTIC, LIGHT-HEARTED ORCHESTRAL
Hey everybody! I just finished this draft of a possible submission to TAXI # S241130PT: "MINIMALISTIC, LIGHT-HEARTED ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS"
Does the music fit the scope of the listing? Is the mix OK?
Thanks!

Hi David,
I'd love to give it a listen but the link doesn't work. Make sure the track is public!

Overall I think this nicely captures the vibe. This library is tough with that "don't try to do too many things" warning and I think you achieve that--your main motif is consistent and catchy.
My comments for possible improvement are
1--The instrument you bring in at :41 sounds fake to me. All the other instruments sound good but that one is distracting when it comes in. Its attacks are also late to my ear. I'd maybe try something else for those lines.
2-I don't think the snare at the end really fits the vibe. The references don't use snare--instead they add forward motion with shaker/woodblock etc. Maybe see if you can achieve the effect you're looking for with a different instrument?

Hi David,
Agree with everything Geoff said...
Also, the reverb is bothering me... It feels like it might be just a little too much.. Turn it down maybe just a tad... The piano doesn't seem like it's in the same space as the right of the orchestra. And yes, I wouldn't use that snare at the end... gives it a slight different vibe when that comes in... feels more patriotic to me then.. If that's what what you want, then cool, but it's not the vibe of the track up until that point.
But it is Light-hearted minimalistic Orchestral... exempting the snare... Good!
All the best,
Mark

It's a great arrangement, I'd definitely lose the snare at the end. I know sometimes that it can feel like you need to add something else to not get feedback saying its repetitive, but I think in this case the melody is strong enough to carry it, and perhaps, if that's your concern, a switch up in other areas could work, dropping out other instruments, having the violin answer the piano etc.
This might just be me as well, but the piano sounds a tad artificial. I say this only because it's feedback I've had in the past with similar pieces. Maybe see if there's an option on your library for some felt sounds etc. to bring it into a "recorded live feel". Lovely cue though, very well played and I wish you the best! Oh, and dial the reverb back a tad.
