Wow! Excellent. Fits it perfectly! What orchestra library did you use? I could listen to stuff like this for hours. Listening to it now...Very rich and smooth... such a nice feel to it.I'm new to all this, so take my feedback with a BIG grain of salt, but when the strings took center stage there seemed to be a sameness to their vibrato that sounded a little artificial. Not enough to ruin it at all.Lovely arrangement. This is very, very nice. I see that one of the benefits of joining Taxi is the quality of music you get to hear on this board.

Mazz,Very film noirish. (I'm not sure that's a word) Did you scare Winston with the Harmon mute? My harmonica playing scares the daylights out of my Border Collie. The only thing I was waiting for is the bass player to walk a line on the second A section. I think that would give a little subtle motion and momentum to get to the B section. It would also give a little release to the pedal point feel of the first A section. I could also hear some piano fills responding to the string lines in the B section (as great a piano player you are)I will post my entry tomorrow. Yeah Chuck. Very astute! I basically ran out of time on this one and I sacrificed a day from other things to get it done. I will add some of the little touches you suggest as soon as I can, which I hope is before they screen it!! Let's break the jinx and both get forwarded, how about that!?!For jamesm: I use East West Quantum Leap Orchestra, Platinum Edition. In this piece I'm trying something new, suggested and inspired by our friend matto: I"m using Garritan Stradivarius as the concertmaster (lead violin player), mixed in so it sounds like it's sitting in the section. It has some great intelligence built in to it for things like legatos and glides. I think it helps the flow of the lines. Cheers,Mazz

Nice job on the trumpet (I'm a cellist myself - although I haven't played for a looong time) and as usual great orchestration.I probably would have preferred the bass and piano to be out a little more and have the strings further back in the mix, but what do I know Trent

Mazz! Suweet! I'm with chuck on those lil things like the bass line and a little more interaction of the keys vs strings but overall, it did it for me in a way that I shouldn't discuss on the board.

Mazz! It's VERY film noir, got a great atmosphere. Good job on the trumpet (I played coronet in high school...) I agree the bass & piano could come forward a notch - they're such a big part of jazz.Hummin'bird
