First Forward...now what???
So I got my first forward for the listing belowSINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS (male or female) in the wide range of John Mayer, Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, Fiona Apple, Sara Bareilles, KT Tunstall, Jack Johnson, Rachael Yamagata, Regina Spektor, Patrick Wolf, etc. are wanted by a West Coast Publisher for numerous TV projects on their plate. This particular company has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs. They need to hear material immediately and would like a wide range of styles/approaches to choose from on this one. Lyrics should be universal enough to be effective as a backdrop for a variety of scenes/plots/story lines. You may want to stay away from really specific settings and situations in your lyric stories, to allow for a broader range of usage possibilities. Musically, the tone here should definitely be current but the approach can come from a variety of places stylistically. Broadcast quality is definitely a necessity for these tracks, but excellent sounding home recordings should work just fine. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. As usual, you’ll be notified via email whether your submission has been returned or forwarded. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - They chose the song "MLC"so now what happens? How long did it usually take you goes to get any sort of response if any?Derek

Congrats on the Forward. Now you keep writing, and keep submitting, rinse and repeat. No one can say if or when you will be contacted. A Forward simply means you got to the next level, your submission is solicited, and will be considered along with many others. Could be a month, a year, two years, to hear anything, if at all. One Forward is great, make it your business to have many more. That's the ticket.kudos again on the Forward!H

Hey Derek,Congrats on the forward. The tunes I have listened to are fantastic. Very laid back - you would do well in the the surfing community of Australia. I especially liked the unusual sounds in 'Loving to Hate Them'Andrew
