First Forward!!!

Post by jonnycastle » Fri Jul 13, 2018 9:32 am

:D :!: :D I'm so excited y'all! Got my first forward ever! Can anyone who's gotten songs forwarded tell me how long it took for you to hear anything from the company it was forwarded to? I hope I hear news whether they add it to their library or not. Either way, I'm hype about my first forward. #validation

The Song Forwarded is called 'Things Are Looking Up'

S180618IF

ACOUSTIC-Driven INDIE FOLK SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a successful and very active Music Licensing Company with a really impressive list of Film and TV placements. They’re eager to find modern, Mid-to-Up Tempo Songs in the general wheelhouse of artists like Luke Combs, Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references for the sound and vibe they’re on the hunt for: “Home” By Phillip Phillips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoRkntoHkIE “Hollow Coves” by The Woods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyNcgqUjRe4 “The Kitchen” by Tow'rs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5Glh2zYzrk Please submit rootsy songs that capture the essence of the Indie Folk genre, with organic-based instrumentation, moving melodies, meaningful lyrics, and a vocal performance that engages the audience on an emotional level. Something as simple as a guitar/vocal could work for this, as long as it’s done well! A small ensemble could also work for this. Group harmonies, foot stomps, and handclaps could all potentially fit nicely for this request. Lyric themes can vary, but should be something you’d expect to hear in the Indie Folk genre. Universal lyrics are needed, so please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists/acts in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed. This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, with a 50/50 split on applicable sync fees. The Publisher will get 50% of Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share and 50% of the Publisher’s share as well. Sweet deal! You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Monday, June 18th, 2018. TAXI #S180618IF

Congrats Jonny! The first forward is a special moment.

Lots of info on the board about timing with the general consensus of somewhere between days and years.

Good luck with the track! I enjoyed it.

Congrats on your first forward! Really great song, I can see why it got the forward. You never know when they will contact you so it's best just to go on and write another song :)

Cheers

Tom
