Hey all TAXI passengers!
First post but I've been a member for nearly a year and I'm loving the experience so far! My first time writing hip-hop as well so I didn't expect a forward.
I've had a few returns and forwards and was hoping some forum members would help me understand this return. It's for listing S210131HH.
Here is my track: https://soundcloud.com/davidclipperton/into-the-ring
My review: https://www.taxi.com/members/UZWINzSqT_ ... 6M-rQQWl_g
The screener said the track is too repetitive, needs more variation, more orchestration and more depth. While I appreciate the advice I thought my track had more of those things than the references So I'm not sure how to incorporate the suggestions into my track. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!
David

The basic idea sounds fine to me, and the production is good enough to be broadcast quality. However I do get the feeling after about 30s though that I've heard the whole thing.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that because the ref track is repetitive than you can mirror that in your cue , they are just for the tone/vibe and cue structures are their own thing.
I posted some stuff about how to avoid sounding repetitive a while back ( to save repeating myself ) topic146048.html
