First royalties

Post by superkons » Fri Jun 18, 2021 1:59 am

Yesterday I got a royalty statement from my PRO, showing royalties from Straya for a track signed to a very Taxi friendly library. It took about a year to make it through, which I think is not too bad, considered the PRO hopping it needed to do :)

This one was a Middle Eastern tension, that so far has racked up 4 unique placements

I received around 12 quid, which is largely more than my music streaming royalties :P

That is great Marco..the first one is exciting, I remember my first one from a long time ago cause I used the money to buy my truck that I still own.

....but then my last one in May was 10 cents...

Not bad ! ..it's more about the excitement at this stage , that someone somewhere picked your track out of all the things they could have chosen and you eventually got paid for it !

Congrats - That first one is a great feeling.

My first royalty was in April 2017 - or so I thought

I saw tracks in my PRO (PRS) registrations had been set as paying out but come the glorious day I got zilch as I hadn't reached the threshold for a payment - the royalty was something like £14 and the threshold $30 at that time.

It took some of the joy out of it but it was still cool and I got my first actual payment in the next quarter (about £100) so it was like 2 first times in a way.

Anyway enjoy and more to come no doubt

Cheers, Andre! Wow, you bought a truck with your first royalty money, incredible! Those were the days, huh? :P

Yes, indeed. However, I am expecting more, in my next statement, at least for those placements Tunesat has detected :)

Cheers, pal. This statement included all my music streaming royalties from 2019 until now, too. Which, as I said, are negligible compared to that single telly one, but still :)
