For Singer/Songwriter Listing U170921AG

Post by Merryband1 » Mon Sep 25, 2017 5:05 pm

Here's the song: http://marionfaithlaird.homestead.com/I ... 6388677668 (The TAXI homesite didn't work.)

Here's the listing. U170921AG

ACOUSTIC GUITAR-based SINGER/SONGWRITER BALLADS with Male or Female Vocals are U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y needed for (up to) $5,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Supervisor placement in a Popular TV Show on a Major Broadcast Network. They’re looking for Down-to-Mid Tempo Songs that could generally fit in the stylistic wheelhouse of these references: “Bloom” by The Paper Kites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8inJtTG_DuU “Let Her Go” by Passenger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBumgq5yVrA “Night Bus” by Lucy Rose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Drznf8S3Z4 Please submit acoustic-based Songs that are instantly engaging and emotionally moving, and could work well in a super emotional scene. Your submission should have well-performed acoustic instrumentation, and a vocal performance that has an honest, sincere, and touching delivery. A stripped-down Song with just an intimate vocal and acoustic guitar could easily work for this request if it’s really, really strong. A small, subtle ensemble behind the singer could work as well. Quoting The Source: “Lyrics are very important. Looking for emotional depth in the lyrics”. Relationship and Love-based lyric themes of all kinds could all work great for this pitch! Please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). The estimated license fee for this use is up-to $5,000, depending on the ultimate placement. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis – Short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Thursday, September 21st, 2017. TAXI #U170921AG

Uploading it to my website, in case the taxi site won't work. Back in a few.

Actually, that's the song, but not the version I submitted to the listing. Hopefully the new one is better than the Broadjam one. :)

Thanks so much! I recorded that first version years ago. Never thought there might be a market until I read the listing...then... Hoping! Do you think I ought to rerecord the guitar part?

Hi Merry,
It's past the submission date but my main thought is the track needs to be more in your face to give it a modern sound.
Lots more compression on vocals and guitar. I like the gtr part as it is. Just needs more processing I reckon.

Hi Merry,
I enjoyed listening to your song. You did an excellent job on playing and recording the acoustic instrumentation. I liked the song, but my only concern was the tone of the lyrics. The reference songs seemed more positive and re-assuring concerning the theme of finding love. Good job though! Sorry it took so long for me to listen!
