Hi Mack--in my VERY limited experience, I've only submitted to country listings and I've had different listeners. It may depend on the genre, luck, experience of the listener (since some are requested by the publisher), or a whole host of magical factors. I hope your pursuits have gone well since your last post!

I just signed up to taxi about a week ago. So far I've submitted 10 tracks and have gotten 2 returned back. I noticed the feedback was graded on content rather than quality and ideas. The two listings I submitted to love the songs but they didn't fit the listing. So I'm assuming I'm on the right path. I have one question though: is each listing graded by someone totally different? or does each genre have one person who watches all listings underneath that genre?

I just wanted to say thanks for this post. It was good to have a message like this to get an idea of some of the general expectations of the board. I am looking forward to making some connections, learning lots, and doing my best to contribute.

Hey Hummingbird. thanks for all that. I am new to the sight and i would like to get as much out of it as i can. I have a lot of hope and to little talent i suppose. I am sure i will be asking for help later. Right now just getting the feel for things. I submitted to songs i know arn't going any where, but i just wanted to get a feel for it. One question. What about copy writing? Do i have to do this or are the recording i have prof enough?

I am not an entertainment lawyer, this is just opinion: It depends on where you live and what the copyright rules are in your country, what listings you are submitting your music to, and whether you feel pitching a track through TAXI to professionals in the industry carries any risk. I suggest do some reading up on the topic.

An ending that doesn't fade out, and resolves on the tonic (a natural ring out is ok, but not a fade out where the volume slowly fades).
