CONTEMPORARY FOLK POP SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for an (up to) $1,000, Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Supervisor placement as Opening-Title Music in an Independent Feature Film. The Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs in the general stylistic ballpark and vibe of the reference the Supervisor gave us:
“Budapest” by George Ezra
NOTE: The Music Supervisor is currently looking for a Song that would work well as a replacement for “Budapest,” which is temped in. To be clear: They’re NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, style, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No.
Quoting The Music Supervisor: “The tone of the song should be carefree and quirky, to keep the feel light.”
Please submit Folk Pop songs that have a bit of a quirky quality to them, with a captivating melody and chorus. Your production can be relatively simple, or it can have a fuller band sound. As long as it’s somewhat consistent with the reference above, you should be in the ballpark you need to be in. Group harmonies, foot stomps, and handclaps are all elements that could potentially fit nicely for this request, but they’re not a requisite. Having a well performed and distinctive vocal sound/identity could also help you stand out.
TAXI Tip: This Music Supervisor used a bunch of songs from TAXI members in the last film she worked on
The Supervisor didn’t specify any lyric themes, but you’d be wise to avoid specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity in your lyrics. It just makes it easier for a Music Supervisor to use, because it won't conflict with the film's story or script!
Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Broadcast Quality is needed.
The estimated license fee for this placement is between $500 - $1,000, depending on the ultimate placement. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Somebody from the Music Supervisor’s team is slated to screen submissions for this, time permitting. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Friday, December 21st, 2018. TAXI #Y181221FP
