Remix. Softened bass and drums, pushed up the guitars and added more backups to chorus.
Redid bass and kick drum added tar track
FINAL MIX....maybe?

There was a recent thread about this, some folks have their page set to 'private'. There should be an option available on the member page, under 'edit profile' to make the page public. Hope this helps!

Well structured, interesting lyrics and arrangement and good performance!
With regards to how it relates to the submission itself, here's what I hear:
The Mix
The references all have:
- The guitars way up front
- The bass blended in lower, and more low to mid, with highs rolled off
Your mix has the opposite - bass is very up front, and the guitars blended in very low in comparison. Bass also has an accentuated peak (somewhere around 1K?) that gives it a bit of a '90s tone tone. It gives it a bit more of a 90s sound than a classic-rock sound.
Vocals
- The references either build or scream the lead vocals, especially by the chorus.
- Punch that chorus out with the vocals! =)
*The kiss example is a cool reference for the chorus. They just get louder, and in unison with different voices. Simple and effective.
Drums
-Your drums have a bounce and snap to them.
- The reference drum parts are all very straight ahead
Overall I think you've got a decent track there, but it doesn't sound "classic rock" to my ears. More closer to a mid '90s pop/rock type of track. I would consider how to simplify your track, make it more straight ahead, in order to be on target for the listing.
Good luck!
Brad

Hi again. If that is Mike, he sounds good Brad really gave you a detailed technical breakdown. I am not good at that. I like the bass carrying the first part of the melody, but I think just a little guitar background would help? In general, I am not hearing much bottom end? I know that lends to the vox coming through clean. This is way off topic, but I could hear a country take on this as well. Good stuff man. Glad to see you back into the trenches. Hi to the Mrs.

Thanks Brad!! a quick remix above am I heading in the right direction?
I plan on searching through the guitar tracks for some more rhythm parts to give it a more wall of sound feel.
Thanks again!!

LOL I've always thought this would work on a country listing. We even change a lyric to make it more on target.feaker66 wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 7:23 amHi again. I'll pass along the compliment to Mike, we have a 25 year old studio version of this and I think he sounds better.
I'm going to hunt down that guitar part.
Love to your family my friend.
