FWD S101028AC A/C (2 out of 3 ain"t bad..)
Hey taxi peeps,
I am very excited to get a few songs forwarded - 2 songs were picked, "None of your Business" and "Chances".
I submitted 'Never" as well but the critic- uh, - the critiquer? (sp?) Well, you know who I mean thought the lyrics were too "youthful"for this listing. Oh well, you can check 'em out at
www.taxi.com/simstar if you want-
Lucy
ADULT CONTEMPORARY SONGS in styles ranging from Rob Thomas to Lifehouse to Sara Bareilles wanted by busy Music Publisher servicing numerous TV and Film projects as well as environmental applications (retail spaces, restaurants, etc.). Production should be solid with the warmth and emotional presence that characterizes this genre. Drums, especially, need to sound like the real deal. Moods can range from bittersweet to celebratory so long as the lyrics speak to today's sophisticated fans between 25 and 54 (because we all know things change dramatically once you hit 55!).

Hi Lucy,
Checked out your three songs. You're a great songwriter! Simeon's productions skills are very sharp too. You both know what you're doing. You have a very clear sound and mix, expressive lyrics and well-crafted songs. I just purchased Robin Frederick's newest book tailored for Film and TV while I was at the last Taxi Rally. As I was listening to your material, I was thinking of how well your songs achieve the benchmarks described in this book. Needless to say, you should find continued success for licensing and publishing.
I think I see what the "critiquer" meant about "Never" but it would be hard to describe. I think it's in the melody and vocal performance. Those two elements seem more for the younger age that the listing proposed. It's a great song in its own right and if you find the right opp listings, it should find success. I was thinking of an early Kelly Clarkson/American Idol as I was listening. And I don't mean that in a bad way.
Enjoyed listening and thanks for sharing!
Best Regards,
Ron

Hi Ron,
Thanks so much for your encouraging words and taking the time to listen.
I bought Robin Friedrick's book at the Rally as well -the one geared to film and TV placements.
A lot of valuable info and incredible amount of research she has done to make our lives a bit easier..
Best,
Lucy
