Pardon the rePete: but I just don't get 'ballad' out of this one;
but it might be to the ears of the screeners/client;
certainly worth going for it.

Ohhhhhhhhh.... Gotcha
So would this be considered just pop? For some reason I picture pop as being a faster tempo. So I thought a ballad would be pop at a slower tempo. This is my problem I can never get the genres right

Sorry that wasn't more helpful towards you deciding and dialing in where your song best 'fits'.
Hopefully others will chime in and point you in the right direction.
