"Give or Take" Listing

Post by themarkalanproject » Sun Feb 04, 2024 4:24 pm

Question for successful people on here please. When a listing says "x minutes or give or take" what would you say the seconds over is allowed? I struggle to determine that range. I created shorter versions just for some of these, but don't want to take out too much if I can. Thanks.

I usually tend to not go longer than 5/10 sec on top of the suggested given time. And going longer is better than going shorter as it is easier for editors to cut than to add

Yeah, I second Marco's (comment above) opinion. In my experience, 5-10 seconds under is about the minimum threshold for the "give or take" time frames.
