COVER VERSIONS of the “Hallelujah Chorus” in Various Styles are needed by a veteran Music Publisher that gets lots of really juicy placements in Feature Films, Commercials, and TV Shows.
NOTE: Songs can be in just about any style ranging from traditional Choral versions, Orchestral-based versions, or even reimagined versions of ANY genre!
Here’s a fairly standard version of the "Hallelujah Chorus" for your reference:
“Hallelujah Chorus” by Händel (The Messiah)
Please submit well-crafted Cover Versions of "Hallelujah Chorus" that are melodically and vocally engaging from start to finish. Male vocals, female vocals, choirs, and small ensemble/group vocals will all be considered – they'd like to hear a variety of options. Productions can range from simple arrangements up to bigger, more fully developed productions depending on the genre and style chosen.
Please stay as close to the original lyric and melody as possible so the root of the Song is recognizable. If you stray too far away from the original melody or lyric, your cover may not be as appealing. Having a compelling vocal performance will also help your Song stand out for this request! Beyond that, get creative and produce the Song in a really cool way!
Broadcast Quality is needed.
Thank you
Dan

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Hi Dan Wow that is one hell of a Hallelujah! I think that would fit great in a modern movie about the past. It must have been fun putting that together Keep up the great work and I hope it lands a deal!
Cheers

Thank, Tom!
I enjoyed the heck out of this. It took me about 3 hrs just to get the first phrase with all 12 vocal parts but when I did, I knew I should finish it all.
Took the better part of 2 days to finish the vocals.
I appreciate your comments, Tom. I hope this one finds a good home too!

Way to go Danny! Makes me think of what the Hallelujah Chorus would sound like if Queen did it.
Sounded great man... keep up the awesome work. Your stuff keeps sounding better and better!

Thanks for the gracious comments, Andrew!
If my stuff is sounding better it's because "I get by with a Little Help from my friends"... here on these Forums and in Calabasas CA!
Thank you sir, I appreciate it!

Re: "Hallelujah Chorus" (Reimagined)
I've got to ask how did you create those vocals (or vocaloids?)?
I also submitted to this with a rocked out version but actually recorded 8 real vocal tracks. Between the guitar and vocal work took me about 20 hours to pull this thing together.

Re: "Hallelujah Chorus" (Reimagined)
Those 12 vocals are totally mine with tuning only on the 3 sopranos. I've found if you tune gang vocals individually.. it can sound processed. So I used tuning on the soprano vocal bus only. I use Waves Tune.
I used a lot of tools in my production toolbox to create this. Let's just say, I've gotten to know my DAW and plugins over the years.
I learn a lot from re-mixing on essentially a daily basis. That's the most important thing!
Good luck with it, David!
Dan
BTW I submitted 2 more versions last night just as the bell rang. This is one...

Re: "Hallelujah Chorus" (Reimagined)
As usual - very nice work Danny. It's certainly a creative take on the Hallelujah chorus. One day I will gain some degree of mastery over my DAW like you - I'm in my first year with this thing.
I know the time has passed to make adjustments (hence why I didn't post mine, finished up at last minute), but might want to bring the soprano down a little in the mix if you use this technique again. From my perspective it sounded like complete 'vocaloids' whereas if your real voice tracks were a bit louder with the tuned sopranos more in the background creating the high end - it 'might' sound better. Not sure - I'd like to hear it both ways.
