Help! I just purchased a Drumazon Drum Machine!

Post by TimWalter » Wed May 08, 2013 7:22 am

Stupid deal of the day at Musicians Friend (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audi ... -emulation) for $29.99 all in.... I spend more on a bad date and have nothing to show for it when its done but bad memories... But, I have no idea what I am getting... seems to have good reviews... and I have a desire to improve my drum tracks.. hopefully this will help. If not, it will make a good paperwt or door stop.. or should be worth something on Ebay...

Any comments/thoughts/ etc on how to use this? My style is definitely not electronica, more at blues/blues rock/classic rock/ little bit of jazz influence/roots rock. Did I just waste $30 bucks? LOL.

Havent been on here in a long while, other life issues kept me away, hope to be back more frequently. Just renewed my taxi subscription for another year, so theres that.

Look forward to comments/direction/ etc on my new purchase!!!

LOL! I love your shoot first ask questions later attitude.

That looks like a bad-ass machine, an emulation of the 909. WOW! If it were just a sample pack, probably not worth it. But being a physical drum machine, you got a hell of a deal!

You might be able to find a place for it in your styles of music. Programming on it is supposed to be pretty easy. I have a much lower end model (505) and its relatively easy to use.The snare and hihats of the 909 definitely sound more acoustic than the 808, but its generally used in electronic/dance/club music styles.

Ok, I got really confused. From the description, the way it talks about routing audio, I thought it was talking about a physical drum machine. I just stumbled onto the manufacturer site looking at another roland emulation (phoscyon) and found this:

http://d16.pl/index.php?menu=14

So it's a VST that emulates the 909. At least it's not a sample library. They go through the pains of comparing the original with their emulation using spectral diagrams...

So for, $30, it's meh, ok. You still may find a use for it. Even if it's to clubify your non-club music?!?

I thought it is a drum machine too.. The picture sure looks like one, when you click on it. I am confused. But when the box shows up, then I will know. I a lot less excited about software than a physical drum machine.
