How to get from Social Stream to Chat..

Hi All,

So tonight during the chat I realized my and some other members' dilemma that we are in our own small zone is that we are on Social Stream vs Chat on UStream. I have no idea how I and others were bounced to it, but here we are! I have searched all over during the show tonight to see how to get back to chat or select it as an option but there is nothing available o the user side of the UI as far as I can see. So if Michael/Admin could find out for us and post it on the forum it would be great.

I have sent an email to Ustream as well.

Well - tonight's episode was as bad or worse than last week. Tons of video freezing made for some funny, or sometimes awful, faces - on Firefox with adblocker plus on the PC - but the chat room worked. So - I had the the MAC running the show, albeit a few seconds delayed, on Safari. Ad interruptions, as I was NOT successful getting adblocker installed there. Very frustrating, having to go back & forth.
If I could get the chat and get rid of the ads on Safari - that would be best, since I could listen via my studio monitors.

Back to the drawing board.

Maybe its a sign we should be recording and writing! Well at least for me..sure miss my chat buddies!

I had that problem with Social Stream vs. chat a few weeks ago. Then it started working as though it were chat. Then chat came back. I don't know what's going on with Ustream. It's frustrating.

Hey Peter, I ended up signing up for the $3.99 monthly subscription to Ustream. I went from freezing multiple times each show, with tons of advertisements, to a perfectly seemless feed. Might be worth a try.

The chat used to be flash, I'd guess it still is, and if for some reason flash is not engaged (browser more than likely), the only available chat is the social stream chat.

Imo, the problems probably have to do with Adobe Flash. There is a lot of flux right now with flash, some browsers have it, some don't, and it seems to depend on what OS and version of OS and bit structure you have also. The trend is eventually to dump flash and go to something else, but until then it's a mess. The thinking is that flash has security vulnerabilities, and perhaps every time a browser or flash updates, some computer systems get left out, I don't know, I'm just speculating.

It definitely seems to be an issue with Flash. It's not on TAXI's side, it is the UStream Platform.
Everything these days is going HTML5.

Hopefully, UStream will update their user interface.
