INSPIRING ORCHESTRAL-BASED INSTRUMENTAL CUES

Post by superkons » Sun Sep 15, 2019 4:28 pm

I would like to know whether this cue (here in 2 different version, original and shortened) is in the ballpark of the references.
The arrangement is pretty simple, as requested:

INSPIRING ORCHESTRAL-BASED INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Music Supervisor-owned Music Library with a huge number of Sports TV placements.

They’re looking for Instrumental Cues in All Tempos that would fall within the general stylistic ballpark of the following references he gave us:

Reference #1

Reference #2

Reference #3

Reference #4

Reference #5

Please submit well-composed Instrumental Cues that could be played behind inspiring sports stories about overcoming adversity as well as triumphant celebrations. There’s no need to throw the kitchen sink at this request as they’re looking for simple arrangements with natural-sounding instrumentation and strong melodies that will not interfere with dialogue. Think of the type of music you would hear when an athlete talks about how they overcame a life obstacle and made it to the Olympic games against all odds! That’s what they’re looking for!

TAXI Tip: Please make sure any Orchestral instrumentation you use sounds very realistic and convincing as synthetic-sounding material won't work for this company.

All submissions should be between 1:30 and 2:30 in length (give or take) with Non-Faded, Button/Stinger endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split any upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. Time permitting, the library owner himself may screen this.

Nice piece!
Something in the mix seems to be incongruant...
I'm thinking that the drums don't sound like they are in the same room as the strings
I would also add a heavier bass to go with the drum/kick so to thicken up the impact
The strings to me are on the borderline as to whether they will pass the screener's litmus test on virtual instruments
One last thought...
I really didn't get "Inspiring..." right off the bat... though I like the build up to it, I get what you went for and like it!
Wishing you the best!

First, thanks for taking the time to listen and give feedback, totally appreciate it, mate!

Drums were recorded live, so that is why you hear them coming from somewhere else, can easily fix that, though.
My orchestrator (he is a brialliant chap, who has done that for ages!) mentioned the strings are all right, though I have had varied experience as to how different people perceive that.

Again, thanks for your time and remarks, you have been extremely useful, cheers :)
