Dear All,
I was wondering whether some of the more experienced members could advise in this matter. I've had a lengthy conversation with BMI and ZAIKs (the Polish PRO) about the music I had written for a documentary in Poland back in 2017. The show is still running and my music has been in each of the +50 episodes transmitted so far (main title and end - approx 2 min. each episode with 5 re-runs of each episode). I still cannot see royalties for any of the episodes transmitted back in 2017 (let alone more recent episodes...). I've picked it up with both BMI and ZAIKs and was promised that 2017 would show up in today's royalty statement but that did not happen. My question is: Is that normal, i.e. it virtually takes ages for this stuff to show up or is a 3 year delay unusual? I will of course continue my letter-friendship with BMI and ZAIKs in this matter but just wanted to check whether I am simply still an impatient 'newbie' or whether in your opinion this really takes an unusually long time... Please keep me straight!
Thanks.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: International Royalties...
I have seen it take that long for some of my international royalties.
On my BMI statement just received, I saw an international royalty just over two years old, it was the first I heard of that placement. I don't know what is normal

Thanks Jim! So, I guess almost 3 years is not totally unusual when it comes to international royalties.

Re: International Royalties...
Thanks! It seems 2 years is not at all unusual for international royalties... Hopefully, one day similar concepts like Tunesat will be used industry-wide to speed up the process.jdstamper wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 2:46 pmYou might be interested in this older post
