Introducing myself
Hi, I'm Elliott Jeffries, happy to meet you all. After wondering about Taxi for so long I finally signed up. I've been writing songs and playing guitar forever, now I want to focus on recording material. This seems to be the place to get people cranking out recorded songs, I'm looking forward to it!

Re: Introducing myself
Howdy & welcome, Elliott.
While the bulk of the listings these days are for instrumental cues (typically a max. of 2-minutes' worth) for film & TV spots, there are still some,
even in the Peanut Gallery, who like to write songs. You know - those melodies-combined-with-words things that people sing.
If you plan to make the most of these Community Forums boards, it might serve your interests best if you complete your profile by adding a photo avatar, and links to your music in the 'signature' section.
Hope that helps.

Re: Introducing myself
Wow i got the photo but it took some doing. I feel like there should be a tutorial haha. For anyone else attempting this, admin will refer you to use an online photo sharing website like PhotoBucket where you'll copy the link to your uploaded photo and post it to your avatar settings. Hey it works but you'll be battling relentless ad bots on Photobucket while you're doing this because it's freeeeee, yay!

Re: Introducing myself
Thanks funsongs. I got the photo and links set up but now my photobucket (as recommended by admin) is now saying I need to upgrade to keep the 3rd party photo link service. It worked only when I first set it up, I guess thats how they get you. Seems like it would be easier just have a way to directly upload a forum profile photo to Taxi.funsongs wrote:Howdy & welcome, Elliott.

Re: Introducing myself
It's been awhile since I went through that process, and had to re-do it before it worked.
However - I did NOT use an offsite service - I was able to grab the photo after I had posted it on my TAXI Homepage profile.
Give that a try, and see if it will work for you.

Re: Introducing myself
Tried that, couldn’t get it to work so I uploaded a photo to my website (which seems permanently under construction) was able to link it there, phew. And that’s the way it is folks until there’s a better way...funsongs wrote:It's been awhile since I went through that process, and had to re-do it before it worked.
