Introducing Myself
Hi, My name’s Terry. I’ve been a Taxi member for a few years, but I haven’t done much with it. I finally have the gear and the workspace I need, but I’m still trying to figure out Pro Tools and improve my time management. This year, I am going to commit to completing and submitting music. And so, I want to become an active reader of the Forum, because I found the postings to be a great resource when I’m stuck on a technical problem, but also as a way to help me stay focused on my new musical commitment. I’m not a great poster but I am committed to reading some of the Forum posts every morning. Thanks.

Hi Terry!
I’m new around here as well, but I think you’re making the right move by getting plugged in via the forums. In just the short time I’ve been hanging out here, I’ve found it to be very helpful and informative.
Looking forward to hearing your stuff!
Andrew

Re: Introducing Myself
Hello Terry, and welcome to these Forums.
When you are able - getting an avatar photo and some links that share your music is another good networking/connecting tool for this part of TAXI.
From the cheap seats, stuck in The Peanut Gallery...
Cheers.

Re: Introducing Myself
hi Terry -
I'm sure there are many ways to learn Pro Tools but if you haven't yet check out the Coursera series from Berklee School of Music, they have a Pro Tools Basics class that is great, I also recommend their Technology of Music Production class if you are more of a rookie and need help with the basic Production concepts.
Have fun!

Re: Introducing Myself
Hey Terry,
Welcome aboard!
Pro tools is not really difficult.... and after a while it is down right easy to use.
I've been using it for at least 20 years.
And if you want to use what the big studios use.... Pro tools is STILL the defacto standard!
I threw that last line in just to get everyone mad!...Ha!!!
Good luck,
Tim

Re: Introducing Myself
Jay,
Thanks for the tip. I signed up for the Pro Tools Basic. (I think I got it for free by auditing the class - anyway they didn't ask for a credit card)
