Is Soundcloud a good choice to showcase

Post by TimHarrison » Sat Aug 29, 2020 9:16 pm

Hi, I have a question ; if I put my tracks on Soundcloud.com am I likely to cause problems for myself and any libraries which are looking to offer Exclusive deals? I know that libraries can be picky as to where composers music is available, however I need to have somewhere that I can showcase my instrumentals.

Greatful for any advice/recommendations

Some library may let you keep stuff you sign to them on your SoundCloud, some may not. Therefore, your best bet is asking them :)

I don't recommend Soundcloud, myself, I feel Bandzoogle is a better choice if you can manage $10 a month to maintain your own website. On Bandzoogle you have the choice whether to play a full track or an excerpt. Never allow downloads. If offered an exclusive deal, read the agreement carefully and, if unsure, ask if it is okay to keep the track on your website as a sample of your work.
