Hey Everyone!Here are the deals for the month of January. Many TAXI Members had multiple deals this month, so congrats to you guys! Way to optimize the connections you all are making!Member Deals 1/1/2008 – 1/31/2008Ted F. (Taos, NM)-Ted recently signed a 4 year exclusive contract with the owner of a Texas based Music Production Library for 2 of his instrumentals.Gabriele Bazzi B. (Italy)-Gabriele’s song ‘Murders Mansion’ was placed in the ABC show “Dirty Sexy Money” through an established and high-profile LA-based Music Library.Will D. (El Dorado Hills, CA)-Will’s song was recently placed on NBC’s show “Life,” - Episode 4 (What They Saw). This was placed by an Independent Label that specializes in film/TV placements after being forwarded through TAXI.Peter M. (Rocklin, CA)-Peter’s ethnic Irish, German, and Italian songs were forwarded to an Online Music Licensing Company that supplies music to film, TV, video game, corporate, internet, and DVD projects.Here’s what Peter had to say: I am thrilled to say the least! The revenue stream will continue for 75 years beyond my life span. What started as a trickle, turned into a stream and is now a river of possibilities. Every genre of my Classical, Christmas, Chanukah, Gospel, Children, Smooth Jazz, Blues and Acid Jazz recordings are now available online. . 24/7Kate C. (Callahan, FL)-Mrs. Kate’s songs ‘Teamwork’ and ‘Give Me A Smile’ were signed to an Online Music Licensing Company. Her song ‘Teamwork’ was used for an organization in Canada supporting the Farmers Union. Her song ‘Give Me A Smile’ is also being used in a children’s music video by the World Youth Federation.Terry B. (Worcester, MA)-At the 2003 TAXI Road Rally, Terry was able to get his instrumentals into the hands of a prominent West Coast Publisher/Library who deals with major TV networks, as well as cable and films. Two years after this, the Publisher/Library called Terry up to sign a few of his songs to their company. Terry has recently discovered that two of his songs were placed. One on different cable stations for a “Feed the Children” special, and another was placed in fourteen different promo spots with CBS during prime time. This was due to Terry attending the TAXI Road Rally! And all of these recordings that were placed were recorded on a 8-track unit.Chris B. (Highlands Ranch, CO)-Chris recently informed us that in May of 2006 he signed one of his Children’s songs that will be included on a 5 CD series [to be released as a set] by an Arts/Educational organization that plans to distribute this project worldwide.Chris B. (Highlands Ranch, CO)-Chris signed a 5-song deal with an Online Music Licensing Company that supplies music to film, TV, video game, corporate, internet, and DVD projects.Chris B. (Highlands Ranch, CO)-Chris singed 5 of his songs with a new Online Music Licensing Company run by a Music Library veteran.Chris B. (Highlands Ranch, CO)-Chris has so far signed 22 of his songs to a new Music Library run by a library industry pro.Chris B. (Highlands Ranch, CO)-Chris signed 4 of his songs with a West Coast-based Music Publisher who typically supplies music to companies such as Muzak (tracks for retail shops, restaurants, malls, etc.).Nick H. (London, UK)-Nick’s song ‘Silent Heart’ was signed with an LA-based Music Library.Mike K. (Vernon Hills, IL)-Through a New York Music Library/Publisher, Mike received a placement on NBC’s “Dateline.”Mike K. (Vernon Hills, IL)-Mike has recently had his music placed in “The John H. Johnson Story,” which was a TV special produced for a cable channel, aired on April 2007. This was through an established Music Library/Publisher that has worked with TAXI for years.Mike K. (Vernon Hills, IL)-Not only is Mike one of the composers on a major daytime talk show, but recently Mike and his co-writer Swanyce signed a deal with the production company of this show and has since had their music on ABC specials such as “Building A Dream.” They have also had collaborations on another special for a Martin Luther King special.Mike K. (Vernon Hills, IL)-Mike & co-writer Swanyce were signed to a U.K. based Music Publishing company.Chet N. (Northbrook, IL)-Chet recently had ALL of his instrumentals picked up by a Music Library.Michel G. (Quebec, Canada)-Mike has signed 6 more songs with the owner of a Music Production Library, totaling to 11 songs up to date with this company.George W. (Juneau, AK)-After many forwards through TAXI, George was recently contacted by the owner of a Music Production Library who signed a couple of his tracks.Ron G. (Bronx, NY)-Ron’s song ‘Hymnal’ was recently used in a popular daytime talk show during the Martin Luther King Special.David K. (Norwalk, CT)-David has up to date 26 songs signed with the Owner of a Music Production Library.David K. (Norwalk, CT)-David has signed 16 songs with a new and growing LA-based Online Music Licensing Company.David K. (Norwalk, CT)-David has signed 6 songs to an East Coast Production Music Library/Publisher that has had many TAXI placements.David K. (Norwalk, CT)-David has signed a 4-song deal with the President of an LA-based Music Library.David K. (Norwalk, CT)-David has signed a 4 song deal with a West Coast Music Licensing Company/Library that has had placements on ABC, CBS, FOX, MTV, the WB, and the CW [plus cable TV placements).Ruth B. (Acton, CA)-Ruth recently signed a deal with a West Coast Music Licensing Company/Library that contacted her a year after being forwarded through TAXI. Ruth says: “So thanks very much to TAXI for making those contacts possible for a bunch of 50-something musicians!”Tracey & James M. (San Diego, CA)-Tracey & James recently signed an 8-song deal with the Owner of a Music Production Library.Tracey & James M. (San Diego, CA)-Tracey & James signed 2 of their songs with an LA-based Music Library.Ron F. (Seaford, VA)-Ron signed his holiday song ‘My Name is Justin’ to a leading Holiday Music Publisher.Martin H. (Switzerland)-Martin recently signed another one of his songs ‘Dream On’ to a LA-based Music Library.Clarence T. (Seagoville, TX)-After submitting his instrumental piece through a Dispatch listing request, Clarence was contacted by the owner of a Music Production Library and requested to represent his song. This company later signed 3 more of Clarence’s songs.Joe A. (Lawrenceville, GA)-Joe recently had one of his songs placed in an upcoming film entitled, “The Lucky Ones,” distributed by Lionsgate entertainment, released in theaters Spring 2008.Rodrigo A. V. (Mc Lean, VA)-Antonio recently signed a 5-song deal with the Owner of a Music Production Library.Larry W. (Palestine, TX)-Larry had his song ‘Baked, Not Fried’ signed to an LA-based Music Library started by veterans. This company contacted him after the first deal and has now accepted Larry’s song ‘Down At The Bay.’Spencer T. (Kyle, TX)-After being forwarded to a Music Publisher with tons of film/TV placements, Spencer was contacted and requested that he send them his entire CD. Six of Spencer’s cuts have been added to their library.Tom H. (Ringgold, GA)-TAXI Members Tom and Eve Horner have recently had their song ‘You’re Walking and Talking In My Sleep Again,’ forwarded to a legendary Music Producer (with over 100 Gold and Platinum records to his credit). The producer placed their song in a video project starring action star Dolph Lungren. This project will be televised worldwide.Doug S. (Ontario, Canada)-Doug recently had his song ‘Drink, Drink, Drink’ signed to an established and high-profile LA-based Music Library.Athena B. (Sherman Oaks, CA)-Athena recently had 2 of her songs placed on the DVD/Online version of NBC’s “Friday Night Lights.” This was all due to a connection she had made at the 2006 Road Rally convention.Anthony L. (Las Vegas, NV)-Anthony recently confirmed that he signed a 2-song deal with the Owner of a Music Production Library.Zachary R. (South Portland, ME)-Zach has recently signed a non-exclusive licensing agreement with a new and growing LA-based Online Music Licensing Company.Joey H. (Northport, NY)-Joey’s song ‘Tragic Thing’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”David H. (Porterville, CA)-David’s song ‘Blues This Morning’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Gary H. (Baltimore, MD)-Gary’s song ‘Better Off Dead’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Uwe H. (Como, WA)-Uwe’s song ‘Once’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Scott K. (Tacoma, WA)-Scott’s song ‘Lost’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Mark H. (Denmark)-Mark’s song ‘Urban Hive’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Gary H. (Baltimore, MD)-Gary’s song ‘Psycho’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Steven D. (New York, NY)-Steven’s song ‘Get Off The Ride’ was placed through a Music Supervisor for an Independent Feature Film called “Midnight Movie.”Joshua D.
