But as Danny is saying, a real kit with a real drummer, well, it's hard to beat...
Amen.

I'm a huge fan of ToonTrack Superior Drummer. They have some excellent MIDI pack add-ons.
BUT WAIT...
Perhaps we need to define "jazzy" first. Can you provide a couple of a la's to know if we are talking about a Ella Fitzgerald with rhythm section, Miles Davis in the 1950s, Weather Report, Spyrogyra or Kenny G.

Good point, Paulie; Jazz, capital J has changed a lot over the years.Paulie wrote:I'm a huge fan of ToonTrack Superior Drummer. They have some excellent MIDI pack add-ons.

Re: Jazzy drums?
I suppose a jazz rhythm style can be played on any kit, but the caricature of a jazz kit imo are the brushes, at least that's what I think when someone asks about jazz or jazzy drums.

Re: Jazzy drums?
Let's just say at this stage I'm thinking very general - sounds that would potentially cover a range of different jazz styles. Not really looking to nail down one particular sound, per se. More looking to research options that will give me some flexibility in writing later onPaulie wrote:Perhaps we need to define "jazzy" first.
