Haha - thanks Amanda ... I love the colours too - need to have coordination!

Honestly, as fantastic as the little SSL desk is - I'm leaning more and more towards ITB mixes these days. Things are just getting that good.

My preamps are all from Seventh Circle Audio (built myself - various selections).
SSL X-Desk
Event Opal monitors
Pultec (built by me)
LA2A (built by me, with fast/slow options)
2 x 1176 (built by me)
SSL Mixbus compressor (built by me).
SSL converters
RME MADI interface
Kemper Profiling Amp (coolest thing I've ever owned)
Heaps of mics that I built too - based on all your favourites (Neumann, AKG etc etc).
Heaps of instruments.

Those are probably the things people care about ... but truthfully, I barely ever use the hardware because plugins are so good these days. Nothing can replace a great musician and a great idea!

Is that an Audix DP series on the tom? if not, what are you using for drum mics and overheads?

Yep - all Audix on the drums ... if you look inside them they are eerily similar to an MD421 (and sound identical really ... but with more focus as the pattern is sharper). Overheads - it depends on the kit, the player and the song. I have some RCA ribbons I like to use but also some U47FET clones I made. Nothing beats a great drummer and a well tuned kit!

You can't go too wrong with them at all - I find they work on every genre with the exception of the kick mic (D6). It is a bit present (sounds great with rock), so when you want a smooth kick - something else is more appropriate. I have a few others that have a less pronounced 'click' sound that I go to for that kind of thing.

I like the D2 on snare much more than a 421 or a 57.

Of course, there's a much bigger difference using a better drummer!
