Hey Annex, congrats!

Typically, what people say is that you now have a contract or a signed track, i.e. a track of yours was signed by a library.

A "placement" is when you hear your track on TV or on the radio. Unfortunately, many signed tracks never get such airtime, but it all depends on the track and the library.

So, let's hope you will get a placement with your newly signed track!

I have a question maybe one of you more experienced TAXI members can answer? The deal was exclusive I think the library will register the song with my PRO, am I correct on that?

Yes they will. It may not happen right away , some don't even register until they know of a placement so don't sweat it.

The library will register the song with THEIR PRO so they are sure that THEY will get paid. They might or might not register it in YOUR PRO (but you can always ask the library what their policy is). The library might be members of the same PRO as you so you're covered anyway. Even if they're not in the same PRO you're still covered though because your IPI/CAE number will feature on the cue sheet for shows that use your track, and that is sent to the home PRO of the country where the broadcast took place. PROs have reciprocal agreements to share placement information, so that info will find its way back to your PRO and any royalties due will eventually be paid. Note that you might not see anything for 6-9 months if its a home country broadcast or maybe a couple of years if the placement is international.
