Just released a new piano album
Hey all,
Dropping this here in case any of you are interested... just released a little solo piano project (concept album) of eight short piano tracks. It's got a bit of a different sound than my usual... so hopefully you don't think it's total garbage
It's at all of the usual places, but here are a few links:
https://www.annayarbrough.com
https://soundcloud.com/annayarbrough/sets/divided
https://open.spotify.com/artist/6hmYmasgOBfCcSAsZApRr1
If you like it let me know what you think! And if you hate it......... spare me

Happy release day!
Lovely tunes Anna! Really cool vibe. Piano sounds great!
What piano samples are you using if you don't mind me asking?

Awesome, Anna. Given that most of what we share on these forums is constrained by very specific briefs we're writing for, it's great to get a listen to what can happen when you open the gates.
Love the development throughout this, some pretty edgy stuff building up both rhythmically and melodically but with a strong sense of continuity and of a journey from start to end that makes it all make sense. Very nicely done!
Bruce.

Re: Just released a new piano album
WOW! - congrats!
Since I do songs, and generally know that the structure of one is gonna be something like 2:30 - 3:30... preferring to be even 3:00 or less;
when - if ever - in the course of composing an instrumental piece - do you set parameters for changes and/or the ending?
Do you find an inspired piece difficult to quit/stop/end/wrap up with the satisfaction of it feeling 'complete' and finished?
It's amazing what you do - that you CAN do that - seems like magic.
FWIW - though I haven't listened to a lot of it in recent years - the piano composers were usually my favorite kind of listening music.
Claude Debussy being one of them - probably because I ended up with an LP of his; not autographed, of course...
Do you know what an LP is? Why of course you do. (Gramps probably showed one to you...) hee hee hee...
Great job. Splendid & superb. Even for Old-Guy ears.
Cheers.
