Light and Humorous track with Too Much!?

Post by steveprobst » Thu Oct 19, 2023 1:27 pm

I've already started another version of this, but wondering if I'm doing exactly what the listing says not to do!
Too much stuff in the "B section"? A "B" section at all. Gets little confusing sometimes.... Has a "Polka-like" motif throughout.

LIGHT, HUMOROUS INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a very successful boutique Music Library that's distributed by Universal for placements in Promotions, Advertising, and other TV Programming.

"Funny Comedy" by Gold-Tiger

"Poem Panic!" by Don Salvato

"Madcap Chase" by Steve Barden

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE LIBRARY: "Many composers throw in way too many ideas and are not focused on ONE CENTRAL MOTIF - they try to keep things interesting by adding new harmonic lines and elements (melodies, even improvisations, etc.), instead of focusing on the productions and textures." Put simply, keep it SIMPLE! We know that other Libraries like to receive music with complementary A and B sections, but this Library is NOT one of them – stick with ONE CENTRAL MOTIF per submission please!

Please send in top-tier Instrumentals that have a humorous and light-hearted sound and vibe! Your submissions should have fun and memorable motifs, and simple arrangements with one central motif. Organic instrumentation that's in the general ballpark of the reference tracks will work best (think acoustic piano, acoustic guitar, orchestral elements, light percussion, etc.). Please be sure that your productions are polished, and that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high quality, realistic, and not dated-sounding.

i'm still trying to figure out what they mean by "ONE CENTRAL MOTIF". I've asked a question in the Listings forum
