Lonely Choir
Lonely Choira Kenworth shifted gears and slowly pulled awayleaving Sam on a road outside Sante Fethe east filled with burgundy as morning shinedand seemed to give Sam's eyes a breakfast of winethen a different message floated from the skiesas a flock of blackbirds began to harmonizecrazy winds made sense to their wingsso they sang their hearts upon a wirethis world is full of random, painful thingsbut Sam heard beauty in that lonely choirthe will of wine had always commanded his feetbut that day Sam heard a song on a dusty streetthat tune led him to a church off an alleywaysometimes music reveals what confession can't sayfor shadowy souls afraid to kneel on their ownsharing a hymn shows them they're not alone Sam joined in on Amazing Gracewith drunkards, thieves and liarsthis world made Sam feel out of placetill he heard heaven in that lonely choirsome hear life without sense,no sin or consequencejust hunger and desireothers hear a song,in harmonies of dawnsung by a lonely choir(c)2004 Robert George
