Long Overdue Update
It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in with an update. While still modest relative to some of the real heavy hitters in the Taxi community, my progress has been growing at a steady and consistent pace. And I can say with absolute clarity that Taxi has been the foundation and driving force behind the successes I've had and the continuing progress I've been making. Through forwards leading to library connections, and a (Taxi) community rich with talented collaborators, my music is currently featured in over 50 TV shows, both in the US and in more than 20 foreign countries. In fact, the foreign earnings have been steadily increasing and comprise almost half of my total royalty income at this point.
Without Taxi, none of this would have happened. I wouldn't have known it was a "thing" that could happen, or have any clue how to make it happen. After signing with numerous libraries through Taxi and attending nine Rallys, I've learned volumes about the subject matter. I've become a better composer, producer, and engineer as well, all direct results from the many educational and experiential opportunities that permeate the Taxi environment.
A couple of personal highlights include having my music used in a trailer for the movie "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" a few years ago, and very recently having a song (co-written with Taxi member Steve Guiles) placed in an episode of "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" -- both of which came with nice upfront licensing fees. Other placements include Days of Our Lives, Young and the Restless, the Leah Remini show, Jeopardy, E News Daily, Seriously Funny Kids, FBI Criminal Pursuit, and many more.
I'm truly grateful for this amazing organization and the ongoing opportunities that Michael has created and keeps re-creating. When I look around and notice the dismal state of so much of the world, and then look at what we have here, all I can think of saying is "Thank you!"

You are certainly a heavy hitter in quality, if not in quantity, Richard. Your music is always rich in ideas and well crafted and produced. It is inspiring to read your update, here’s to many more future placements and scores. Cheers!

You've had some great placements Richard and based on that I'm sure there's much more to come.
Congratulations on making this business work for you.

Awesome! Congratulations Richard! You may not consider yourself a "heavy hitter", but that's an impressive list of achievements!

Wow, thank you so much, all of you! As you certainly know, music can be a tough road to travel down, but this organization and the greater community make the journey a whole lot more enjoyable! I wish all of you success on your journeys as well.
