Looking for Feedback...
Its great to be here and this Taxi forum seems like an honest place if you are searching for feedback. ce77 is a combination of two artists and we are working on pop songs and instrumentals for film/tv use. If any of you have a moment to possibly critique or provide some feedback on our work it would be greatly appreciated. We are open to hearing the positives and negatives. www.taxi.com/ce77Thank you!

Re: Looking for Feedback...
Hey there.... you have a lot of songs here... I think what we be most helpful to us forum folk is if you give us a listing you're shooting for along with links to individual songs... then I think the critique thing works a little better. Thanks!

Re: Looking for Feedback...
Hi ce77... welcome aboard....Give you a couple of pointers.....You will get better, more useful feedback if you link to one song and post lyrics... I like to read along with the lyrics... makes it easier to give feedback....I think there is a thread in General Hangout for forum newbies... gives the low down on P's and Q's....I picked "Not in the Disco Anymore" and had a listen.... not my genre but pretty good stuff....I was waiting for an explosion.... maybe 1:08 or 1:39... you know... pump up the kick... stronger snare and hi hat... maybe use that for the verses and break it back down for the choruses to give a little defination in the parts....Everything sounds pretty centered mix wise... maybe spread the stereo field more.... it would help the instruments stand out a little better....I like the tune... just what I hear...So don't be a stranger... listen to and comment on other members stuff... such as mine .... the more active you are on the boards the more you active your threads will be.... it's human nature, nothing sinister....Peace, Geo

Listening for the second time as I type this, so that something. I'm not sure what to say about this piece, but here goes:The laying and techno effects are a little annoying at first, and then they start to grow on you. The guitar is nice behind the arpeggios of the heavy-verbed xylophone. The violin is tasty with the repetitive back drop against the again heavy-verbed bass drum. Not a kick, is it?Overall, the main issue you need to address is the timing of the vocal cadence is a bit off. Otherwise this piece works even though it is unsettling. Due to the subject matter, I'm guessing that unsettling is your target.Wig

Re: Looking for Feedback...
hey there!I think you've got the bones for a really good song, but I think you might want to try to remaster.... there are some places where everything strikes a good balance, and then others where it's noticeably not.... for example, when your voice comes in, it's way out in front and doesn't lay comfortably in the mix... and then the synth harmonica (i'm guessing) comes in a little too hot for me... but really it's the vocal (and to a lesser extent the hi-hat) that you have to watch out for throughout the piece. Also, you may want to consider developing the instrumentation more quickly, possibly even under the lines of vocal... At some points, it gets a little repetitive, especially for the hook/chorus.... but I don't want to compromise style here.... just giving some thoughts. Nice piece overall.... it was a good listen! And as far as listings to watch for submitting this, I think you're looking at tv/film mainly, right?

Hi ce77 They call me mild bill around here. I wanted to personally welcome you to the forum.I went to your site and listened to Asian Dream, Beautiful Night and A time for love. You have your own wonderfully unique sound. You are experimenting with new and exiting sound's that are entertaining and interesting. You guys also sound very comfortable and established in that sound. My hat is off to you having the vision and guts to leave the status quo and step out and do what you want to do. This is what sets apart just average musicians and great artist. The first two songs are well done and suited for the film/movie industry. The song A Time For Love is OK but lacks passion to me, but it's a good song and the production is OK. The song just didn't reach out and grab me. I hate to say anything negative about anyone work unless I think it could help the artist hear what other people are thinking but maybe not willing to voice their opinions. Over all its obvious to me you folks know what your doing and should do real well with your music. Take care and welcome again mB
