Looking for lyricists

Post by babe9545 » Sun Apr 24, 2016 5:29 pm

Hi. Ed Grenga here. I'm a composer and songwriter from the Boston area. My specialty is music and production. I'm looking for prolific lyricists to collaborate with,
particularly, but not limited to, pop, r&b, and rock. If anyone is interested, please hit me up and we'll have a conversation to see if there's a fit. Also, I'll be attending the ASCAP "I Create Music" Expo in LA, this coming week, so, if you live in the LA area and want to meet, please let me know.

Thx

Ed

Hi, Ed;
Might you provide a link or two to examples of what you like, and do, music production-wise?
Cheers.

ps - don't take this the wrong way... just a coincidence that this original song was written
about my good old friend from Boston, whose name also happens to be Ed... "Boston Eddie";
it's meant to be comical...

Sure. First, here's a link to my homepage:
http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.php?userid=me
Here's a link to my company website:
http://www.handsomebrothers.com/

I'm mainly a composer for film and tv, and I've done a lot of songwriting over the years, but that was always secondary to scoring and production work.
Lately I 've caught the songwriting bug, and I want to write stuff that I can either get to artists and/or to music supervisors.
I have about a dozen new tracks, or works in progress that are in need of great/hooky lyrics.
My styles and taste are all over the place. Lou Reed, Killers, DIsturbed, Adele, Amy Winehouse, EDM, Stones, Old School rock and dance, you name it.
I like combining influences.

I could really use someone who's into hip hop phrasing with rock sensibility.

FWIW: That Taxi link only took me to the Taxi home page;
did you intend for it to go directly to your personal page?

I'm not your Hip Hop guy... but would like to hear some of your rock tunes, old or new, in need of lyrics.
Impressive website.

Sorry about that. I thought it was my Taxi Homepage. What if you just searched my name? Would that take you to my homepage?
In the meantime, I'll try to figure out how to get you the link(I'm obviously not the navigator on this site).

So, I went to my homepage and that was the link- http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.php?userid=me
I don't know how else to get you there.

BTW, if you like comedy, I'm the producer for a guy named Red Peters. Check that out. Disclaimer- most of the stuff is R rated. Don't go there if your offended by childish immature vulgar adolescent humor. :)

Thanks for the warning label - I do prefer at least PG, clean comedy. :? :shock: :) :P :lol:
Your mileage may vary.

Hi, I’m a composer who is looking for lyricists to collaborate with. I’ve had some really good feedback regarding my musical ideas and melodies but I’ve always struggled with the lyrics. I write many songs that never end up getting finished because I can’t think of any lyrics put to them. I open my mouth and produce catchy melodies at will, it’s just I don’t have any words to put there. I usually just articulate noises that sound like words while I’m writing. It’s all a bit of an Elton John syndrome. So if anyone is actually passionate about lyrics and wants to practice writing to fit some already structured songs, I’d be happy to work with you. However if you’re looking for a flat rate payment up front then this won’t be your thing. I work with great musicians because they are passionate about what they do. I would like to work with lyricists because they are passionate about what they do. If a song gets successful then it’s happy days royalties all round.
Please contact me if you are interested and I can send you a demo
regards!

I'd love to see if we can team up! I'm passionate about writing. I'm learning the guitar and uke. I'm trying to learn music production, but I'd rather write, write, write. I've been writing songs for fun for about 10 years. I went as a guest to the Taxi Conference in 2011. I joined Taxi a little under a year ago.
