Loudness and LUFS

Post by Picardster » Thu Oct 31, 2019 2:18 am

Hi Passengers,

is there any recommendation regarding loudness and LUFS for songs to be submitted?
I personally master my songs to between 13 and 14.5 LUFS in order to have a proper dynamic range - and because platforms like Spotify and Youtube limit the LUFS anyway to somewhere between -12 and -14 afaik.

On the other hand we all know that louder songs trick the ear and might make the song more likable for the screener.

Do you have any recommendation for that? Its easy to crank the loudness up. But I don't want to do it if not necessary.

Cheers in advance for your help.
