Making Uncle Sam Happy

Post by Russell Landwehr » Fri Sep 15, 2017 7:44 am

Thanks, TAXI :!:

It's looking like Uncle Sam will get a portion of my 2017 Royalties.

With today's BMI check (my largest so far), my 2017 music income is greater than my 2017 music expenses. This will be the first time this has happened... EVER! (including 30-some years of playing live)

Here are some interesting stats: My 2017 Royalties are more than double those of 2016. And today's check was about the same as ALL my Royalties for 2015!

This is very encouraging considering that most of the money on this check was from Reruns and International payments. (I only had two new episodes added to my list)

Please note: ALL my BMI Performance Royalties are because of TAXI Forwards!

Thanks, TAXI :!:
Thanks, Michael Laskow :!:

Ha!
Thanks Peter :D

I'm not in the black yet on my TAXI career... SPECIALLY including Weston Bar Tabs.

I'm counting on this upward trend, though.

2 years 8 months 22 days left until I can retire from my day job.

Great News Russell! :D
If only we weren't trying to be Rock Stars for so long we could've been churning up this royalty bucket sooner! :P

This is awesome news, my man! But this is my favorite part:
2 years 8 months 22 days left until I can retire from my day job.
Can't wait until you can do this stuff full time. The end of power-pole climbing is near!

That's rad, Russell! Your story is inspiring so thanks for sharing. I hope you're proud to be operating in the black and paying the taxman this year; it's a sign of success and that your hard work is starting to pay off.

Congrats!!! That is so great to hear, especially for a newbie like myself. Seeing posts like this keep reminding me to keep on truckin' and feeding the pipeline. I have made a grand total of $100 in my entire life from music

Hopefully your upward trend only continues to take off more and more!

Great to hear that you've built the momentum to this stage, and it will no doubt continue to build. Congratulations Russell! Thanks for the inspiration, and don't forget that there's a whole new generation of Taxi riders us who are looking up to you (and might buy you a beer too :)).
P.S. Does he realise how long and hard you worked for that money? I'm glad he's not my Uncle. ;)
