Metadata ,IRSC's, and collaborating
Hello and thank you in advance for your input. 1. I read part three of the Road Rally article that briefly touched on the importance of metadata. What are the main points that need to be included? 2. Are IRSC's necessary when I am only submitting to Taxi at this time? 3. How do you collaborate and give credit when submission services want one person to own the masters. Thanks !!

I’m no expert on this, but I see nobody else has responded, so here’s my two cents. Don’t worry about the metadata until you submit to a library after the Taxi submission. I’m not sure what a IRSC is, but you don’t need it to submit to Taxi.
When collaborating, the library will ask you how to divide up the track percentage amongst the composers when you are submitting and filling out the paperwork.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding Don; it sounds like I'm over thinking this too soon, Just trying to get a handle on the business side of things.

Re: Metadata ,IRSC's, and collaborating
Hello Eugene,
Here's my take on this matter.
Always put at least the basic metatags and that would include: Track title, Artist Name (if any), Composer Name, and in the comment section your email address
Additionally you could add the following: Genre, Tempo, Scale, Year and IPI#
If you collaborated on a piece, you put the name(s) of the collaborator(s) within the composer section
If it's a WFH (work for hire) you're good, you don't need to add any name
For the IRSC, if I'm not mistaken, you can do without. Once your track is signed, these codes are automatically assigned. You can read more here http://forums.taxi.com/iswc-numbers-t137947.html
Hope that helps,
