Moving to Austin, TX! Who's down there?

Hey folks! I've been away since the Road Rally and trying to get connected again. I'm getting ready to move to Austin in about 2 weeks and I wondered who's down there. I'd love to meet up with you all sometime! Looking forward to getting the studio set up again.

Welcome to Austin! I live just north of Austin in Round Rock. I'm not sure how many active members are in Austin.

The Salt Lick near Dell Diamond is less than 10 minutes from home. Although my wife and I grew up in Austin, she has never eaten at Salt Lick. There is no shortage of good barbeque and Mexican food in Central Texas.

Not a Taxi member (already has recording contracts) but super-musician Dann Glenn recently moved down there so you might want to check him out if he's playing around. (I dated him years ago in L.A. and recently got in touch and found out he moved to Austin.)

When I knew him he was a bass player but an injury caused him to switch to guitar...pretty awesome:

It's cool to see that you'll be in Austin soon! I recently moved down here myself in January 2017 and have loved it the entire time I've been here. Let me know if you have a chance to meet up sometime when you get into town.

Hey Lamar,

It's awesome to see that you're close to Austin. I'm surprised I didn't notice when I reviewed your cue yesterday.

Having a meet up sometime sounds great. The Salt Lick looks nice, but I think it would be a better idea to get together somewhere inside of Austin, so it's more centrally located and convenient for everyone. What do you think?

I'm not sure on exactly where a good place to meet up is, though. Around the UT seems great for its location within the city. When we first moved down here, we stayed in different AirBnb's while looking for a house and one of the places was a loft close to the UT. We sadly got sick when we were staying there, so we never had the time to go out and see everything you could do in the area. Do you know a nice place around there, or anywhere else centrally located that you think would be great to meet up at?

There are plenty of places in central Austin to meet. Parking is somewhat of an issue near UT. I will PM you.
