Quote:Guilt: Little Peggy MarchThat reminds me of a funny story. My oldest sister was really into 60's pop, and the radio was on all the time (W-L-S in Chicago!).She decided to buy a compilation of all the recent hits that were being advertised on radio and T.V. --- by "The originals." She was so excited to have all the records!Well, the package came in the mail, and she rushed to the record player. We listened to the first record --- I believe it was "Devil In Disguise" by Elvis --- and I said, "Hey, THAT'S NOT ELVIS!" We looked at the fine print on the package, and found out these were quick knock-offs by a studio group named "The Originals."I wonder what happened to those records --- they were SO bad! My sister was bummed out. Ern

Here's one. Our cable just got upgraded and we now have a bunch of channels we didn't have before. My wife is flipping through the new channels and she comes across the Sundance channel which was airing the movie "Jesus Christ Superstar". I always loved the music for that (the original album). I'd give my left, um, eye to sing half as well as any of those performers.

CaseyUnfortunately, I've never seen JCS, but I played the album over and over as a kid (the Original London Concept Recording, I think, with Ian Gillian from Deep Purple as Jesus)...another album I loved was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (also with lyrics/music by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber).

I don't like Weber as a general rule but JC Superstar rocks!!! My fav part is the scene in the garden with Jesus and Judas when they flash through classic portraits of Christ on the cross. It's so powerful and the music is brilliant.Btw, most of the stuff on this thread I wouldn't feel guilty about at all!
