My 1st Forward!

Post by LindsayH » Sat Jul 02, 2022 2:04 am

Hey everyone, I am so thrilled I received my first forward yesterday for S220606RM for modern relationship based songs. I totally appreciate its early days and I have a long way to go but this has really cheered me up. I have been with Taxi just over a month and can't wait to see what the future holds, hopefully I will get to meet some of you at the Rally in November. Here is the link to the song called 'In Denial' if anyone would like to have a listen, its a lot darker and sensual than I would usually write but clearly it worked!

Would love your feedback so have linked below, thanks everyone and have a really lovely day :D

Congratulations Lindsay

Your track sounds great, love the production and the held back vocal style with the layered harmonies. Very dark & dreamy. With a few tweaks I could imagine it being a Bond theme.

Good luck with it !

Thank you so much for your super helpful feedback, I love Bond! Wrote a song actually for the last Bond film called Lost It All but Billies amazing song made it (understandably so, different league). Open to any tweak suggestions you have too! Thanks again :D p.s. you have sunshine!!?? Not so lucky in Brighton!

Well, hello Lindsay and hello nice music! Great vibe, good production, excellent vocals! I was just thinking, especially coming from TV/Film applications if there could have been more variations like bringing in new elements in Verse 2, a radical breakdown after two-thirds into the track with creepy strings (just my imagination), Don't get me wrong, the track is excellent but IMO it lacks a bit of top-end. Something like distorted guitars (in a bond kind of way) or some edgy synths could have put the cherry on top the cake.

Nonetheless, congrats on the well-deserved forward and I hope it will get signed and placed soon!

Best

Super grateful for your feedback everyone, thank you very much! A number of people have mentioned Bond which is amazing if this song generates that kind of connection. Distorted guitar is a great idea, to give it a bit more complexity at the high end as you say, and creepy strings would be a good addition as it has a dark feel! Very different to what I usually do so will definitely work on pushing myself out of my comfort zone and being a little more experimental with less traditional sounds
