Congrats Marty! For the record, I've just landed my first deal thru TAXI with a company doing the SONY/BMG compilation CD in Europe...and yes, for SALSA tracks. The nice thing is, it was originally for one song, but after they heard my material, they licensed 3 more tunes! I'm very excited.And yes, I actually AM a SALSA pianist (for about 30 years), although I play much MORE than just SALSA (harumph...). Anyway, I've been a TAXI member for just over a year (my renewal came up at the end of April)...so it obviously pays to hang in there. The numbers are as follows: 28 submissions, 7 forwards, 1 contract - 25% forward rate with a 14% close. BTW, the company got my forward in October 2006...they contacted me in June 2007 - these things DO take time. And to think I was going to cancel my contract...Thanks TAXI...it really does work!
