My Favorite Things at Road Rally 2010
Folks,
I'm still drowning in post Rally work, but wanted to let you all know how much the staff and I enjoyed this year's Rally. Soooo many of you told me that it was the best ever, and that's exactly what we aim for every year
My favorite thing was meeting FAR more new attendees than ever before... I literally spoke to hundreds, if not more than 1,000 newbies. sadly, I didn't get to spend NEARLY enough time with some of my oldest dearest friends, and I apologize for that.
I spent more time in the open mics this year than ever before and was blown away by how many great artists I heard. And the music drawn on the panels was by far the best ever. Many of the panelists commented about that, and they TOOK for more music than ever before.
I've never been happier about the over all experience, and I sincerely hope that all of you had a great time as well. Thank you for coming from 31 countries all over the world. Nothing puts a smile on my face faster than somebody saying, "I flew 16 hours to get here and it was worth every penny and every hour on that plane. I'll be back next year."
Thank you all!
Michael

Re: My Favorite Things at Road Rally 2010
My fourth and best Rally ever. Favorite things:
1. Reuniting with dear friends and meeting new ones. I love you guys!!!!!
2. Making new business connections and plans for collaboration.
3. One-On-One mentor Rich E. Blaze (Dianne Warren producer/engineer) giving me very positive feedback on my song "Second Chance" and valuable advice about contracts.
4. Performing my song "Rows of Roses" at the Ballroom Open Mic. I like that room much better than the one downstairs and want to give compliments to the sound person. I got tons of great feedback on my song.
5. Getting a hug from the Boss (Michael L). Thanks for everything.
6. I met someone who had a great deal of success in music, but not in the last decade. He was the guest of a panelist and it was his first time at the Rally. He was excited about contacts he was making and felt the Rally was giving him the opportunity to get his career back. It's good to know that Taxi is not just for beginners, but useful for professionals at all levels.

Re: My Favorite Things at Road Rally 2010
The Rally is something I look forward to all year long. This was my fifth Rally and I'm still buzzin .
My favorite things:
1. Seeing my old friends, catching up, hanging at the dot lounge, laughing, singing and having fun
2. Listening to legends like Lamont Dozier and Michael Lloyd talk about music with such passion and excitement after all these years in the business, how inspiring!!!
3. Meeting new like minded and talented people
4. The listening panels (so inspiring and mind blowing to hear the talent in the room and the response from the panels)
5. The Rally energy and vibe is just incredible and seems to get better every year
6. It feels like a family gathering rather than a music conference
7. Jam Session on the 12th floor with Mazz, Chuck and a ton of others
8. Suzan Doyles chocolate bar and her amazing energy!
I could go on and on.
Thank you all so much for such a great time, it was so nice to meet you, especially those I only knew either from the board or facebook.
And a BIG "Thank You" to Michael and his staff !!! It just keeps getting better and better! I'm extremely grateful and feel priviledged to be part the Taxi family.
